Location
Beverley is a delightful town offering many attractions from the magnificent medieval Minster, the many Georgian and Victorian buildings to the unique Westwood, an area of open pastureland on the edge of the town, also home to Beverley Racecourse and Beverley Golf Club. Beverley now boasts its own theatre (East Riding Theatre), situated in the centre of the town. Follow the Medieval Guilds & Crafts Town Trail - four walks from North Bar to Beverley Beck. Or follow the Elwell Trail, a series of 22 replica paintings by eminent local artists, Fred and Mary Elwell.
Beverley offers many interesting independent shops and a good selection of eating places from fine dining to wine bars, bistros, cafes and even delicious sandwiches. Grocery shopping is catered for by a choice of supermarkets within walking distance of Tiger Lane, but there is an excellent selection of independent food retailers in the centre of Beverley, including butchers, delicatessens, bakers, and a fishmonger.
Should you wish or need to be car free, Beverley has a railway station with easy access to Hull with it's museums, the Ferens Art Gallery and the Deep amongst it's many attractions. There are also trains to the coast at Scarborough. The bus station is only a few minutes walk from Tiger Lane from where there is a direct bus to the historic city of York, some 30 miles away.
